I have to be honest and say that London is not one of my favorites. However, this past week visiting the city with my family has allowed me to experience it through a different lens. I also can’t go without saying that London is undoubtedly one of the best food capitals of the world, exposing you to any cuisine you wish to try. Positioned in the center of the globe, immigrants have created their mini-world here so you have access to authentic dishes and entire cuisines from every continent.
Like my other Google Maps Lists I have put together a guide of my favorite museums, neighborhoods, restaurants and cafes, and shops for you to discover the next time you find yourself in this major hub. Enjoy!
Museums
The Wallace Museum
My favorite kind of museum is private collections in the location where the art resided and resides. Not only are the paintings and objects worth admiring but the actual home or palace that is home to them - the wallpaper, the curtains, the chandeliers… The Wallace Collection is very impressive and just the right size. You don’t need to carve out an entire day to soak it all in and not to mention it’s free! Each room is distinct from the one before and I would do it all again right this second.

The Victoria and Albert Museum
I regret to say I only spent about 15 minutes in this museum (I prioritized the little time left of daylight). My brother and mom continued the visit as my dad and I walked around the South Kensington neighborhood. The pictures below are stolen from my mom’s phone ;) Based on Nael’s and Mamma’s accounts, it’s worth a visit, especially its cafe designed by William Morris, a renowned textile designer in the Victorian Era.
